Application notes

Best for street + light track use (HPDE, lapping days, one-hour enduros). Not recommended for autocross-only setups — the compound needs heat cycles to reach peak coefficient and you won't generate enough temp on a 45-second course. For autocross choose the Apex Street Plus pad instead.

Warranty

Apex Race-Spec pads ship with a 24-month / 18,000-mile manufacturer warranty against defects in friction material, backing plate, or bonding. Track use is fully covered — we don’t void warranty for HPDE, lapping days, or enduro sessions. Warranty does not cover wear from normal use or damage from improper bed-in.

File a warranty claim by emailing a photo of the failure mode + your order number to warranty@apex-performance.com — most claims are approved within 48 hours.

Returns

30-day returns on unused, unbedded pads in original packaging. Once pads have been bed-in we cannot accept them back (you’ve altered the friction surface), but we’ll happily swap for a different compound if the bite or NVH isn’t a fit. Return shipping is free for fitment-related returns; customer-pays for preference changes.

Held up at NCM Motorsports Park.

Five 25-min sessions in 95° heat, zero fade past lap 4. Bedded them in over 10 stops from 60→15 mph per the PDF, then took them straight to a track day. Pedal feel stayed linear through the back half of every session. Replaced my OE pads halfway through last season — should have gone Apex from the start.

Bite + modulation are real.

Initial bite is sharper than the EBC Yellowstuffs I was on — first lap cold they actually grab. Pedal stays firm into a long brake-zone at the end of a 25-min session. Pairing with the Apex DOT-4 fluid was the right call; never boiled. Install was 90 min in the driveway with hand tools, torque to 137 lb-ft on the caliper carrier bolts per gen-6 spec.

Daily + 3 HPDE weekends, no glazing.

Streetable cold (mine bite at room temp without warming) and survived 3 HPDE weekends at VIR + Roebling without glazing. Dust is darker than OE — washing weekly. Coming off DTC-60s these are 80% of the track performance with way better cold bite for the commute home.

Great pad, instructions PDF had a typo.

Stopping power is everything I wanted — went from Hawk HPS to these and the bite is noticeably stronger. Knocked one star because the install PDF listed the wrong torque spec for the caliper bracket (115 lb-ft vs the correct 137 for gen-6). Emailed support, they confirmed within an hour and sent an updated PDF. Recommend, just double-check torque in your service manual.
